What is the difference between visas and who requires visas?
The visa allows foreigners to stay at the Schengen territory for not more than 180 days per year. It is tough to receive this visa. A residence permit is executed by the foreigners who need to stay on a legal and permanent basis at the Schengen zone. BUT since 1 July 2010 are NOT obliged to stay MINIMUM 180 days per year.
What basis to be advanced for receiving a RP
To have the necessary basis for receiving a RP, it is beneficial to register a representative office of a foreign merchant without the right of carrying out commercial activities in Latvia. And a person who requires receiving a RP becomes the representative of a representative office in Latvia.
Why is it beneficial?
1. This is the cheapest and the most rapid legal manner of receiving a RP
Because having once registered such a representative office, a person pays once a big amount and after that by relatively insignificant amounts to an accountant and to the state on monthly basis – incurs monthly charges starting from EUR 70 for accounting and taxes. Monthly charges are early specified with an accountant in each particular case.
For example:
receiving a RP ON THE BASIS OF REGISTERING A COMPANY and registering oneself as an official, a businessman pays about EUR 750 per month,or
ON THE BASIS OF RECEIVING A JOB, for a person working based on an employment agreement for any Latvian businessman it takes about EUR 450 per month only as regards taxes.2. You do not need to pass examination on the Latvian language.
3. It is possible to extent a RP thereafter on this basis for rather less amounts of money and with les trouble for shorter period of time. And it is possible to apply for a permanent residence permit 5 years after the permanent residence.
